Back to Reality

After a month-long vacation, I am back to reality.  I actually don’t know which one is real.  The life back home or the work here.  Whichever it is,  I am already missing home.  The moment I stepped out of our house at 4:15AM to catch the plane to Manila, en route to my flight to Dubai, Hay.

I did not have the heart to wake my little angel.  I know she would be upset that I will ride the plane without her.  But, well, life is not at all fair.  She has to accept that.  She will get to catch another one come August anyway.

What did I do there?  One, be a mom once more.

I gave my mother a much needed rest from taking care of my little angel.  I was at the first row taking in all her tantrums and terrible-two stuff! Really.  I had to endure the 2-days getting to know mommy once more.  It was heart-breaking, mind you!  Technology isn’t that cool.  Even if I see her almost every-week for webcam-call-session, it is still different compared to the physical presence of a mom.

After the two-day awkward moments, we hit it off right away, Me- establishing, “I am mommy”, and Andy, the daughter.  Rules were set.  Like, she cannot sleep without brushing her teeth!  And babies are not allowed to drink soda.  And if mommy says you have to stay at home because mom has to do some errands, she has to do that.

Of course there were days when I had to bend, like, she wanted to eat Spaghetti from Jollibee.  Okay, I bring her along to the nearest Jollibee or mall.  Or, she gets her way at what she wants to eat, which usually is pansit.

I still have lots of things to tell you, but, alas, reality is creeping at me.  I got tons of papers at my front.  I will have to write later. :)
