Weather: Dreary

Dreary Weather

Dreary Weather

My jaw dropped.  This is the first time I saw how one would describe the weather.   Back in kindergarten we used to have a daily exercise of “naming the weather”.    It was fun.  We had only four to choose from.  Let me see if I remember it correctly.

  1. Fair- at six years old, when you look around and you are able to play because the there’s not too much soon and there isn’t some dark clouds hanging around,  we called it fair.
  2. Sunny – Of course, Mr. Sun in the southern Philippines wants to hang around often, therefore, sunny.
  3. Cloudy – occasionally we get the dark clouds where it will tell you that in a few hours time it’ll rain, yeah, that’s cloudy.
  4. Rainy – six years olds cannot play outside!

But to see “dreary” as weather description is something else that if I were back to being six, I would have to ask my teacher, what is dreary techer?!

If you were the teacher, how would you describe it?

It’s dreary weather today here in Dubai, I better take a look outside and observe and try to capture what this is.

PS.  We also have sandstorm today!
